MORE THAN JUST A JOB!

For a living, I get to watch a 200 inch moving flatscreen t.v.
I see so many different scenes!
Bizarre, funny, strange, beautiful & sad
Its the most entertaining experience on a job I've ever had!


A plethora of attitudes & spirits to say the least
Keeps me praying now that's for sure!
I made three years this week
God gives me strength to endure!


Uh oh! Bumper to bumper, traffic is too thick
I'm running late, but can't afford to miss!
I made it, Thank God, watch your time says the clerk
Ok, thanks, I'm here now & ready to work!


I check the equipment to be safe, since we all have to share
I walk through & around starting my day with prayer!
Thank You God for a safe & pleasant day
Please let everyone who boards feel your presence in Jesus Name!


Adrenaline's pumping we're all lined up in a row
Time to hit the streets & watch the daily show!
Stop after a morning trip to grab some hot tea
Maybe some hashbrowns, they're 2 for a dollar at Micky D's!


Meet lots people, a head nod & smile won't hurt
So many men, all colors & sizes, they sure do love to flirt!
There's plenty of exposure, many faces are repeats
Vehicles & pedestrians galore, make sure they see you, get the big picture, exercise those five keys!


Cut off by a taxi cab turning right
FROM THE THIRD LANE!
Rushing people need turn signals
Its enough to drive you insane!


There is so much tension, drama & stress
I can't curse & flip 'em the bird!
I Just take a deep breath & smile
Remember my purpose & recall God's Word!


Many different routes, so much to see
Its amazing how drastic the changes can be!
I see when you fumble, I see when you trip,
I see when you fall down, I see when you slip!


Homeless asleep in the park
cups shaking, spare any change?
Elderly, disabled, wheelchairs
a walker & a few canes!


School kids pack in tight
People arguing on the street ~ ready to fight!
I say good morning & hello even if no one speaks back
There's so much negativity in the world, its clearly a spiritual attack!


A stroller with two kids inside
On the floor lies chicken bones!
A fare just short of a quarter, only going two blocks
A loud conversation on a cell phone!


Walk to the rear
Check it out, play it safe!
Stretch my legs, sit back down
Buckle up & I'm on my way!


All pile on, pay fare & have a seat
Read the paper or a book, listen to ipod quietly
So full at times, no place to sit til the route is done
Standing room only, packed to the front, yep they're riding SHOTGUN!


Did you see when the sun arose?
Oh, you're nodding, smoothe ride, its ok to doze!
Free your wedgy, I'll turn my head
I'll watch the boats sail by instead!


Families with kids excited at the zoo
Dogs of all breeds walking their masters too!
Don't step off that curb without one look
Whew! Defensive driving, now that's the hook!


Romantic couples holding hands
Groups, for money, do a street dance!
Traffic patrol blow whistles loud
Horse & carriages ride through the crowd!


Passers by all going places, some to work. some tourists shopping
Tall buildings disappear in the sky, top half chopped off by fog & I blink!
Now everyone's scurrying about as field mice in a maze
But, strangely, all are moving in sync!


Go ahead, pick your nose, I promise I won't stare
I'll turn my head, its way more to see over there!
Always in the eye of the public, you get commendations & complaints
Takes all kinds to make up the world, some act like demons, some act like saints!


I've been called a smoothe operator
Because I try not to be wreckless causing people to stumble!
The skills I've developed seems to improve daily
But, I just say thanks & try to remain humble!

Outer drive, runners, bikers & walkers
As seasons change, clothes come off then on!
Still, calm waters turn to waves
crashing against the bank until dawn!


Frozen waves in mid stream
Sun blazes hot & melts them!
Waters rippling for miles to see
I'm just awe struck at HIM!


Blue sky-blue water, grey sky-grey water
white diamonds glistening!
Shhh! You hear that?
Shhh! Are you listening?
Its peace that surpasses all understanding!


What a blessing to be able to witness God's beautiful handiwork
All while getting paid!
I don't take it for granted, not one bit
I've really got it made!


I enjoy what I do
Its done as unto God!
He anointed me to service you
That makes it more than just a job!


Inspired to create on 9/23/09! Thank God for red lights & terminals! lol


Whatever you love enough to do for free is the very thing that will make you rich, in more ways than one! ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR PASSION!

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON IN THE WORLD TODAY? OMG! Are people crazy or what? Just when I thought I've seen it all, I see some more! lol

I went to lunch with this guy after being aquainted with him for about two years & it was a disaster! I just want to encourage you to never settle for less than God's best for your life! Don't be thirsty, under no circumstances!

On a lighter note...

YEAH! I AM SO EXCITED! I'VE BEEN WANTING TO JOG/RUN FOR A LONG TIME. I'M A RUNNER NOW! I'VE ADJUSTED OUR EATING HABITS & I'VE BEEN EXERCISING MY CORE & DOING BASIC YOGA, BUT NOW I AM ABLE TO RUN 2.5 MILES! ITS A GREAT FEELING! I THANK MY FAMILY FOR THIER SUPPORT & THANK GOD FOR STRENGTH & FOR GIVING ME THE DESIRES OF MY HEART! ITS A GREAT FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT & IT REALLY OPENS UP THE LUNGS!

Hello, Its 11p.m. and I am settled in for the night! I was just slaying (sitting+laying) here reflecting on this weekend. Plenty of things happened this weekend that I loved & a few things that were uncomfortable, BUT I MADE IT THROUGH!

You know how some people read novels, some read short stories, then you have the fiction vs. non-fiction readers? Well, I wanted to come up with something different! Inspirational, yet thought provoking. Some people read the horrorscopes for different reasons. I asked a few people if they go for them & 2 said no while one said yes. Next, I asked if they read it for fun or if they really believed that what was written was true & would come to pass? The three answers were, "I don't know"! Well, I like to read daily devotionals, are you familiar with those? They are inspirational, Bible based short stories. They come for singles, couples, teachers, parents, children, people recovering, you name it, they've got it!

I will pop out some every now & again, as the Lord leads, but mine will be short & to the point! I call them HOPEFULSCOPES! And sort of like greeting card sayings, will be THOUGHFULSCOPES for when you're just thinking of somebody & want them to know, but don't know exactly how to express yourself! What a light bulb moment! Thank You Lord, I appreciate You!

No "I" in TEAMWORK!

I spent the entire day with these beautiful souls that God has entrusted to my care! I call them my perfect combo, not because they themselves are perfect, but because I have two girls ages 16 & 13 & two boys ages 10.5 & 9! I could not have planned it any better myself! God knows just what to do & when! His timing is perfect!

Some of you may be wondering why I am so excited about caring for four children, well because babies are a gift from God & I am blessed that they call me Mommy! Thay are so much fun, they get along well (most times) & they are some really gifted, talented & intelligent beings! No, I am not just saying that about "my" children lol, this perfect set is special! The hand of God rests upon them!

We had such a wonderful Sunday together, one of the best weekends yet! Wanna know what we did? Cool, I'll share it with you: I had pulled an all nighter, drinking hot chamomile peppermint tea while learning about blog set up & free templates & finally writing some of the things God has placed in me to come out! (so exciting) Before I knew it the birds were chirping & #4, my baby boy, came downstairs & we talked a bit until he decided his oatmeal was calling his name! #3, my oldest son, came down &  joined me until he went to play (not an early eater). It was still very early so I continued to blog as they played, when down came #2, my baby girl (taller than me mind you), greeted me & went straight for the kitchen for early morning cereal! I continued to blog until #1, my oldest daughter, came to give me a warm embrace. I shared my new accomplishments with them

& they gave me input & even helped with words & titles a bit! Everyone had breakfast & we began to get ready for church! No rushing, no fussing, it was perfect! 

We were excited about being in a temporary new location because its much bigger & closer to our house. The kids packed a lunch while I hurried to be ready. We laughed & talked & sang songs of adoration to God while on the way. We arrived with such anticipation to give as well as receive blessings! The anointing was high, the WORD was life changing & souls turned to Christ! We rejoiced in the Lord! 

While enroute home, they ate thier snack & we stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few items. Even that was a pleasurable event! Everything was going so smoothly! I was a bit iritable due to no sleep, but I was enjoying myself & they are great at helping me! We got some pretty good buys & headed home. My sons changed clothes & darted out the door to cut the grass. My neighbor pays them to cut his grass & ours, they like it & I LOVE IT! lol ~ My girls put the grocery away while I shut my eyes for a moment & then I had to go outside to help my sons start the lawn mower. They were all very impressed to see mommy start it on the first try! Talk about a good feeling, shux, I had to stay out there & show them a few pointers, then watch in amazement as it was thier very first time doing it alone! AND THEY DID IT TOGETHER!!! My neighbor taught them how & usually supervised, but told them they were ready to go solo! Everyone was so proud of them! My other neighbor even brought them out a cold soda (like a cold beer lol) telling them they are good men & how great it was to see them cutting the grass at thier age! I was so proud of them, I even took pictures! lol ~ my girls were out there helping with trimming the bushes & we all pitched in to sweep up the debris, it was wonderful! What a feeling!

Every now & again I had to remind the boys that they were actually related & to please stop bickering & they'd say "we're not bickering mommy, we're debating but still working together!" I had to turn my head so they didn't see me cracking up! What? It sounded the same as bickering to me! lol ~ The entire weekend has been SHEER TEAMWORK! Thank You Lord for allowing me to have this encounter & it not be from the third kind! lol

After laughing & playing outside, we came in, cleaned up & ate dinner! Now everyone is showered & in bed accept me!  I can not believe I am still awake! Even now, how am I still awake without having any sleep at all? I guess I am flying high from the adrenalin! What a rush! lol

Oh well, I can't crash & burn yet... its day 10 & I've got to bake my Amish Friendship Bread! Trust me, that's a whole new post entry!!! lol & I've got to be at work at 5:30a.m.!

I have the most amazing people surrounding me...its you, my family & my friends! I am so blessed to have you in my life! Thank you for your love, support & most of all, your prayers! I'm sure I'd be nuttier than a fruitcake if God hadn't put us together! 

There are so many wonderful stories to share & I can hardly wait to dive right in! We'll share our memories & create new ones right here in the Family & Friends Cafe!
